Minimum requirements for Programs:

For all programs of School of Science & Engineering, candidates must have Math or Physics, with minimum B grade in HSC or C grade in A-levels to be eligible to apply.

Minimum Qualifications for admission:

1. Academic Qualifications:

• Combined GPA of 6.0 in both SSC and HSC or minimum GPA 2.5 in each OR
• GCE O-Levels and A-Levels: O-Levels in five subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.5 or above and A-levels in two subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.0 or above. (scale A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1) OR
• US High School Diploma, IB Diploma Program (IB-DP) or equivalent
• For academic qualifications other than the above one needs to contact Admission Office to check the eligibility
• Foreign applicants should send their academic transcripts and name of two referees for initial screening to admission@zums.edu.bd. After verification, Admission Office will contact with them about their eligibility for admission.

2. Acceptance by ZUMS admission committee.

• A minimum of 15 years of schooling prior to MBA. A bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Please note that two-year BA/B.Sc./B. Com degrees do not fulfill the 15-year schooling requirement; a master’s degree will be required in such cases
• A minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a 5-point scale or at least Second Class in all exams
• Acceptance by ZUMS admission committee

The Board of Trustees of ZUMS has made a decision to bring higher education within reasonable reach for students and their families from different socio-economic backgrounds. Many factors contribute to the ability to earn a university degree, and the leadership of ZUMS management are committed to address them all in order to increase access to higher education, especially for disadvantaged people in the society who have historically faced barriers to entry.

Given the large number of students who need financial aid and the socioeconomic challenges in communities throughout Bangladesh, our ability to provide financial assistance to students is very important. ZUMS’s public-service oriented approach will be helpful in enabling potential students to have access to higher education, both flexibly and at reasonable cost.

ZUMS provides a range of scholarships and financial aid for its undergraduate and graduate students.This University offers comprehensive, need-based financial aid in the form of scholarships to the students who qualify for assistance. At ZUMS, we are committed to providing as much financial assistance as possible within the limits of its available resources.

• The students should keep in mind that full-time enrollment for scholarships and financial aid purposes is considered 15 credits or more in a semester. Since there are two semesters in a year, the full time undergraduate students are expected to complete degree requirements in 8 semesters.
• The Scholarships and Financial Aid Policy is subject to change at the discretion of the University authority.

  Undergraduate Students

  Merit Scholarships:

  These scholarships are purely academic awards, based on a student’s GPA in HSC and SSC, both at the time of admission;anda minimum required admission-test score.

• Up to 100% waiver of tuition fee for students with 5.0 GPA (without 4th subject) in the immediate past HSC and SSC examinations, or 5 A’s in O-Level in one sitting and 2 A’s in A-Level in one sitting; as-well-as a minimum 70% admission-test score.
• In order to continue with theawarded merit scholarship in subsequent semesters, a student is required to score the following CGPA in every semester:

*** CGPA: 3.70-3.84 (10%), 3.85-3.89 (25%), 3.90-3.94 (50%), 4.00 (100%) ***

• Students performing well above the requisite CGPA may apply to the authorized committee for upward revision of the award level.

  Special Scholarships:

  Freedom Fighters:

  The University pursues a policy of awarding up to 100% waiver of tuition fees to the children/grand children of freedom fighters of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, with provision for higher levels of award for those from modest economic backgrounds. In order to continue with this scholarship, a student requires to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.25in every semester.

  Disadvantaged Families:

  Meritorious students belonging to the disadvantaged families from any part of Bangladesh will be awarded up to 100% waiver of tuition fees. In order to continue with this scholarship, a student requires to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.25 in every semester.

  Sibling Scholarship:

  If one sibling has been studying at ZUMS, other sibling(s) who enrolled later will be eligible to apply for tuition waiver up to 30%. In order to continue with this scholarship, a student requires to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 in every semester.

  Female Students:

  If a female student does not qualify for scholarship under any other category, she is entitled to 10% tuition fee waiver.

• The students receiving scholarship under any of the above categories may apply for additional financial aid, and we would like to consider each application on a case-by-case basis within our general policy on awarding need-based financial assistance to the students of this University.

  Graduate Students

  ZUMS makes financial assistance available to graduate students in various forms. These include scholarships, teaching and research assistantships, and on-campus employment.

  The above mentioned Special Scholarships for undergraduate students are equally applicable for the graduate students at ZUMS.

  We make arrangements with organizations in both public and private sectors of Bangladesh for providing group tuition fee waiver to the prospective graduate students from those organizations.

Mismatch between the educational provision in a higher educational institution and the needs of the job market is an important cause of graduate unemployment. ZUMS, therefore, seeks to be responsive to the market demands and provide the necessary competencies and skills to the students. Moreover, arrangements have been put in place for ensuring enhanced quality of academic programs so that the graduates of ZUMS are favored for employment.

•  Career Focused Academic Program – The academic programs at ZUMS have been especially designed to prepare students for employment within the career path that they have chosen. The course curriculum are developed especially to be relevant for human capital development to support economic growth of Bangladesh, and are delivered in such a way as to enhance employability skills of the students.
•  Investment in state-of-the-art learning spaces – ZUMS has invested significant resources into developing state-of-the-art learning spaces. The Gulshan Avenue campus demonstrates our commitment to creating sustainable and responsive learning spaces. Future projects include the New High Rising Academic Campus at present location (the City campus) and a large residential campus near Dhaka.
