Admission Deadline: “Upto 01 February 2022“

Candidate with a minimum GPA of 2.50 at both SSC and HSC or equivalent or a total of GPA 6.00 for both the examinations together with at least GPA of 2.00 in any individual examination. For English medium students, at least 5 subjects at O-level and at least 2 subjects at A-level. The English medium students must secure minimum B grade or GPA 4.00 in 4 subjects and minimum C grade or GPA 3.5 in the remaining 3 subjects.

A four-year Bachelor or a three-year Honors degree or a Master’s degree in any discipline. At least Second Class in all exams or a minimum CGPA of 2.00 on a 4-point scale. At least two years of continuous work experience as executive. 

Admission in undergraduate program on credit transfer

A student may transfer a maximum of 60 credits earned at previously attended colleges and universities towards VUB Bachelor degrees. Transcripts from all previously attended institutions/university must be submitted. Only credits on which a student has earned the 2.25 grade or above will be transferable to VUB. To be official, transcripts must be sent directly from each college attended to VUB Registrar office/Admission office. Hand carried transcripts presented by students are unofficial, even though they may carry the college seal or signatures that are placed on official records. Transfer of credit will be considered only after a student enrolls in the program after fulfilling the admission requirements as laid down for the regular students. Transfer of credit will be reviewed by the equivalence committee on a case by case basis. 

Transfer of Credit & Waiver (MBA & Other Masters Program)

A transfer of a maximum 30 credits (and consequently waiver) may be allowed for Masters Program to a student having BBA degree of this university or an equivalent degree of other university. Such transfer (waiver) will  be subject to approval of the equivalence committee. The student who has been granted transfer of credits (and consequently waiver) would be required to complete successfully the remaining courses to obtain the degree. Graduate earned by the student concerned in his/her former institution/university shall not be counted towards calculation of his/her Grade Points Average (GPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). These grades will be shown separately in the official transcript. Grades earned below ‘B’ will not be transferred (and hence waiver would not be admissible). Transfer of credit will be considered only after a student enrolls in the program after fulfilling the admission requirements as laid down for the regular students. Transfer of credit will be reviewed by the equivalence committee on a case by case basis. No credit transfer is allowed in executive MBA program. 

The foundation of Victoria University of Bangladesh is laid on Global Institute of Business and Technology (GIBT), Dhaka – the only approved educational partner center of Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) in South Asia – which started functioning in 1999. In March 2001 it signed a partnership agreement with Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. The partnership agreement was designed to jointly provide degree programs for students with facilities for studies both at GIBT and VUW leading to VUW degrees.

The program thus offered an unique opportunity of securing a highly prestigious degree of VUW. GIBT merged with Victoria University of Bangladesh when the latter was accorded permission on 31 May 2003 by the Government of Bangladesh to function as a full-fledged university under the Private University Act. The university was established with sole sponsorship of Mr. K.B.M. Moin Uddin Chisty, a philanthropist.
