Admission Requirements For Undergraduate Programs
Admissions requirements for undergraduate program are as follows:
- At least 2.5 grade point in each of the Secondary School Certificate(SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate(HSC) from a board of university or equivalent examination.
- Diploma in Engineering from the Bangladesh Technical Education Board(BTEB) on a diploma recognized by BTEB with a GPA of 2.5 and above out of 4.0 may be admitted in the B.Sc. Engineering Program.
Admission Requirements For Graduate Programs
1. Master of Business Administration(MBA)
The minimum requirement for eligibility to seek admission into the MBA program is a Bachelor Degree of its equivalent in any field including business, engineering, agriculture or medicine with 5(five) points (with no more than one 3rd division in any public examination) calculated as the follows.

Applicants who have passed at least 5 papers in G.C.E. ‘O’ Level and 2 papers in ‘A’ level with a bachelor degree may also apply. For such candidates to be eligible to apply the minimum qualifying Grade Point Average(GPA) in ‘O’ & ‘A’ levels are 2.5 and 2.0 respectively. GPAs for ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level are calculated on a 4 point scale(A=4, C=2, D=1, E=0).

2. Master of Law(L.L.M) and Master of Arts in English
Successful completion in enrolling of L.L.B.(Preliminary and final), BA Honours and Master of Arts(Preliminary) in English program will enable a student to join this program.

Admission for International Students
For the purpose of admission, internal application are defined as all persons are not citizen of Bangladesh, International applicants who seek admission at SIU, must meet the same academic standards for admission as those required of local students. Since there are wider variations in educational systems throughout the world, international aaplicants are selected on the basis of their academic work, proficiency in English and Mathematics, probability of success in the chosen curricula, and certification of adequate financial resources.
Credit Transfer Policy
Credits earned at previously attended colleges and university will be evaluated for acceptance toward SIU degrees by faculty members. Transcripts from previously attended institutions must be submitted for evaluation. A student who wishes to seek transfer with has earned credit to other university at home and abroad may be allowed to do so. Credits earned at SIU are accepted by all university at home and abroad. Some of our student have already migrated to foreign universities and their credits earned here have been accepted.

Accommodation
SIU has female hostels in three separate buildings just adjacent to the campus where about 250 female students can be accommodated. Supervised by one provost and two assistant provosts, these hostels are safe, comfortable and quiet.
Library
SIU has a separate large building used as central library which can accommodate more than three hundred students at a time. There is a separate chamber where about 30 teachers can study. The number of books in the library are about 12 thousand which is beings continually increased. Also, the library is enriched by hundreds of scholarly journals, magazines, and CDs.
