Undergraduate Program Requirements

 
BSc in CSE, BSc in CSE (For Diploma Holder), BSc in CSE (Weekend), EEE, BSc in EEE (For Diploma Holder, Evening Batch),BSc in EEE (For Diploma Holder, Friday Batch), Architecture, Architecture (for Diploma Holders), Textile, Textile (for Diploma Holders):
 

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in HSC /A Level. (Textile, candidates without Mathematics in HSC may apply but he/she must complete a remedial course in Mathematics).

For Diploma Holders: A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.50 in SSC & CGPA 2.00 in Diploma.
 
B. Pharmacy:
 

1. Candidate must have a minimum GPA of 6.50 combined in SSC and HSC examination and no one lower than 3.0 without any additional subjects.

2. Candidate must have a minimum aggregate GPA 6.50 in “O” level and “A” level (in a total scale of 10).

3. Candidate must pass SSC/ “O” level or recognized equivalents and HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents in Science Group and obtain a minimum GPA 3.0 (in a scale of 5) without any additional subject.

4. Candidate must have minimum GPA 3.00 in Chemistry and Biology separately and a minimum GPA 2.0 in Mathematics in HSC / A Level. (B. Pharm, candidates without Mathematics in HSC may apply but he/she must complete a remedial course in Mathematics).
5. Students must Pass HSC /A-Level in the current year or one previous year.

 
BBA, LLB (Hon’s), BSS in Economics, BA in English, BA in Bangla (Hon’s):
 

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

 
For the Children of Freedom Fighters: A minimum GPA of total 5.00 in SSC and HSC examinations.
 
Undergraduate Program (Admission Requirements) for International Students:
Passed the school certificate examination after 12- year schooling with the minimum GPA 2.00 of 4 point scale or 50% marks or a student must have at least 5 subjects in O- Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 Subjects in A -Level with GPA 2.00.
 

Graduate Program Requirements

 
MBA (Regular):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least 2.00.

 
MBA (One-Year):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a Bachelor’s degree (BBA) with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least 2.50

 
MBA (Executive):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least 2.00 and any job experience.

 
MBA (Friday Only):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least 2.00 and any job experience.
 
LLM (Final):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least an LLB (Hons) degree with CGPA of 2.25.

 
MA in English (1 Year):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a BA (Hons) in English degree with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least 2.00.

 
MA in Bangla (1 Year):

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a BA (Hons) in Bangla degree with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least.

 
MDS:

1. A student should have at least second division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.00 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00.

2. A student must have at least 5 subjects in O Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 subjects in A Level with GPA 2.0 (in the scale of A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1).

3. At least a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2nd division/class or CGPA of at least 2.00.

 
Master’s Program (Admission Requirements) for International Students:
 Passed 4-year degree examination with good grades after 12-year schooling in Secondary & Higher Secondary level.
 
  • Admission Form on payment of Tk. 500/-
  • Attested copies of all academic certificates and mark sheets (1-8 for diploma students) along with original documents
  • 4 Copies of recent photographs (passport size), Student’s NID/Birth certificate and Guardian’s NID photocopy attested
  • Attested Job experience certificate (only for 48 credits MBA)
  • Foreign Students: A copy of recent passport (at least one (1) year validity) Copies of all academic documents together with a testimonial, attested by the Diplomatic Mission Stating the duration of the courses studied by the applicant. Police Clearance Certificate from own country. “NOC from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Education of the Government of Bangladesh.

Undergraduate Program (Admission Requirements)

Passed the school certificate examination after 12- year schooling with the minimum GPA 2.00 of 4 point scale or 50% marks or a student must have at least 5 subjects in O- Level with GPA 2.50 and 2 Subjects in A -Level with GPA 2.00.

Master’s Program (Admission Requirements)

Passed 4-year degree examination with good grades after 12-year schooling in Secondary & Higher Secondary level.

Career and Professional Development Services (CPDS) assists the students to develop their skills and experiences they need to achieve career success. Canteen @SEU

Where to taste new dishes, eat till you drop, or meet your friends around a table…
A wide choice of food is available in SEU canteens with traditional main courses, side dishes, drinks, desserts, tea or coffee. There are also dispensers of sandwiches, beverages and snacks at reasonable prices.

Health and Safety

A Medical Officer is working in SEU. The Medical officer is available in his office from Saturday to Thursday (2.00PM-5.00PM) excepting Government holiday for all students and stuffs.

Accommodation @ SEU

SEU provides hostel facilities to its students with home environment. There are four hostels adjacent to campus for female students. SEU ensures clean, spacious, safe and healthy environment for the students in the hostel.

There are 4 Hostels in Southeast University. Address of hostel as follows:

  • Hostel # 1: NAM Flat, Road #02, House # 06, Nam Flat (1st Flr), # 6A1, Block -X, Banani, Dhaka.

  • Hostel # 2: Road # 2A, House # 2 (1st Flr), Banani, Dhaka-1213.

  • Hostel # 3: Road # 2A, House # 2 (2nd Flr), Banani, Dhaka-1213.

  • Hostel # 4: “NAM Villa” Road # 2, House # 8, Block # X, 1st Floor, Chairmanbari, Banani, Dhaka-1213.

Hostel Facilities:

The University makes the best possible efforts to provide the finest services and facilities within the hostels. Following are the facilities offered in the hostels:

  • (1) Food (The hostel has its own Mess providing hygienic and nutritious vegetarian meals three times a day. Special menus are designed for special occasions & Holydays)
  • (2) Rooms with attached washroom, bed, table, chair and almirahs.

Counseling:

In addition, the hostels have Hostel Superintendent who is there to solve the problems of students in context of family issues, studies, home sickness etc. The Hostel Superintendent is regarded as best friend by the students who provide ready tips on how to tackle these everyday stressful situations.

Safety and Security:

The University ensures the safety and security of the students in the hostels through a dedicated team of security guard. There are security guards who take care that proper decorum is maintained in the campus and are there to assist the students in case of any emergency.

Hostel Guidelines:

  • (1) Hostel facility will be offered on First Come First Serve basis
  • (2) Students must follow the daily arrival and departure timing at the Ladies Hostel of SEU. The daily exit and entry time respectively 7.00 AM and 7.00 PM. Students will not be allowed to exit and entry from the hostel after the mentioned time.
  • (3) No visitor’s guardians / parents are allowed to enter the Ladies Hostel without the permission of the concerned authority.
  • (4) Political activities are strictly prohibited in the Ladies hostel.
