Arts, Law, Social Science and Business Related Programs:

• Minimum GPA 2.50 in both S.S.C and H.S.C or equivalent
• Minimum 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level with minimum grade of B in 4 subjects and C in 3 subjects

Science and Engineering Related Programs:

• Minimum GPA 2.50 in both S.S.C and H.S.C with science background or equivalent
• Minimum 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level with minimum grade of B in 4 subjects and C in 3 subjects from science group

• Minimum GPA 2.50 or second division in both S.S.C and H.S.C or equivalent from relevant group
• Minimum 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 subjects in A-Level with minimum grade of B in 4 subjects and C in 3 subjects from relevant group
• Minimum second class or equivalent CGPA in Bachelor’s degree from relevant subject/group

Admission forms are available in admission office of the university at 7-14, Nikunja Housing Society, South Khulshi, Chittagong by paying Tk. 500.00.

Note:-
Failure to submit any of the documents or photographs along with the “Application Form” stated above will be considered / treated as incomplete form which may result in cancellation of the application form / admission.

• Scholarship will be awarded to 6% of the total students, of which 3% for the children of freedom fighters and 3% for meritorious and poor students from remote underdeveloped area.
• Scholarship will be awarded on S.S.C. & H.S.C. results.
• For bachelor’s degree programs, scholarship will be awarded on the basis of performance in admission test for the first trimester and for other trimesters on the basis of trimester results. For master’s degree programs, it will be awarded on the basis of the trimester results.
• Need based financial aid for poor students.

However, they will be required to appear at the viva voce and have to attend the Placement Test on English. Students seeking scholarship on the basis of performance in admission test may sit for written test. English section of Admission Test of relevant program will be considered as Placement Test.

Master’s Degree Programs

Every student must take the admission test unless he/she meets the requirements of direct admission criteria set forth by the university. Students, having outstanding results in their previous examinations, may be allowed to get admitted in the university directly but it is not a fundamental right. Students will be selected for admission considering their admission tests, previous academic results, moral character and some other related factors. Admission test includes written examination as well as viva voce.

Exemption of Written Test

Applicants who have total GPA 7.00 or above in SSC & HSC combined may be exempted from written test. However, they will be required to appear at the viva voce. All applicants exempted from written test will have to attend the Placement Test on English. Students seeking scholarship on the basis of performance in admission test may sit for written test. English section of Admission Test of relevant program will be considered as Placement Test.

Since the establishment, Port City International University has been focusing on assisting the students in facing the challenges of the ever advancing world. PCIU is a platform where students can rise to the highest level of their achievements. It provides an outstanding and supportive environment for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. A talented and dedicated group of academics provide guidance and advise the students to pursue their research and academic endeavor. The dynamic teaching and learning environment of PCIU have helped this University to be more competitive in maintaining a global standard in quality education and research. To accomplish its academic and social commitments, the University has been regularly organizing different events by engaging distinguished personalities and entrepreneurs from a variety of renowned institutions and corporate houses.  

In PCIU, we maintain a standard quality education and provide the students with proper resources and logistics to reach their goals. Recruitment of qualified teachers and executives, their training and exposure to internationally reputed institutions/organizations are our prime concerns in maintaining quality of education. We have already been able to organize two international conferences on “Quality for Sustainable Development” and “Sustainable Development in Technology for 4^th Industrial Revolution”. Our teachers have had the honor in attending an international conference in Malaysia and the Vice Chancellor along with a team of young teachers and officers attended a conference on Leadership management in India. The young faculties of the university got the opportunity to participate in a training workshop at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia. All these initiatives have been aimed at achieving a global standard education and improving our academic curricula, teaching and learning methodologies and in the long run research capability. We have already started implementing OBE system as per UGC directives.   

PCIU takes utmost care for its students and is ready to do whatever possible for the benefit of the students. Considering the socio-economic condition of the students of low and middle income groups, the university has kept its tuition fees at a minimum level. We have been providing merit scholarship and financial assistance to our students in different categories specially Freedom Fighter quota. We have already created a congenial study friendly campus with all modern facilities including e-library and state of the art classrooms and laboratories. Alongside academic engagements, PCIU gives due importance to extracurricular activities of the students including indoor & outdoor sports. We have different indoor and outdoor sporting facilities like sports forum, debating club, cultural forum and robotics club and some other departmental clubs.
