Admission Requirements For Undergraduate Programs
- Minimum GPA 2.5 in SSC and HSC Examination separately (Total GPA 5.0)
- For B.Sc in CSE: HSC Science with Mathematics
- Passed GCE “O” in 5 subjects and “A” level in 2 Subjects, maximum 3 C’s total
- American High school Diploma
- Acceptable Britannia Admission test Score
- The final selection of candidates for admission in the undergraduate program at BU will be based on the total score obtained with 50% from Admission test, 20% from SSC / O level and 30% from HSC / A level.
An applicant passing the admission test in any program at BU has to collect an application form from the Admissions Office for specific information regarding application procedures by paying Tk. 500/- (Taka Five Hundred only). The applicant has to submit the completed application form along with the following documents to the Admissions Office
Admission Requirements For Graduate Programs
- MBA (Regular) : Minimum 3 years’ Bachelor Degree in any discipline.
- EMBA : Minimum 3 years’ Bachelor degree in any discipline with minimum 2 years’ job Experience after completion of the degree.
- MA English (Final) : 4 years’ bachelor degree / BA (Hon’s) in English.
- LL.M (2 Year’s) : Minimum 2 years’ Bachelor degree in Law.
- LL.M (1 Year) : 4 Years’ Bachelor degree in Law /LL.B (Hon’s).
- MSS in applied sociology : 4 years’ Bachelor degree in Social science.
- MSS in Economics : 4 years’ Bachelor Degree/ BSS (Hon’s) in Economics.
- M.Sc in computer science and engineering: 4 years’ Bachelor degree in CSE/B.Sc in CSE.
Paper/Documents Requirement During Admission
- One Application form.
- Three passport-sized color photographs, duly signed by student.
- Photocopies of –
- SSC or its equivalent/O-level marks sheet,
- SSC or its equivalent /O-level certificate (if available),

Financial Assistance (Scholarships & Waivers)
Scholarship
Merit Based Scholarship:
Up to 100% tuition fee waiver to those who obtained GPA of 5.0 (without 4 subjects) in SSC and HSC from Science, Arts and Commerce groups or have 7 ‘A’s in ‘O’ Levels (in one sitting) and 3 ‘A’s in ‘A’ Levels and up to 50 % for 6 ‘A’s in O level/IGCSE (in two sittings) and 2 ‘A’s and 1 ‘B’ (28 points) in ‘A’ Level (AAB).
Performance Based Scholarship:
Up to 100% tuition fee waiver based on the academic result in each semester at Britannia University.
Financial Aid
- BRITANNIA Scholarship: 100% tuition fee waiver with living & book allowance for meritorious students from disadvantaged financial backgrounds (orphan or family income not more than Tk. 20,000/- per month) who obtained GPA of 4.0 (without 4th subject) from Science, Arts, and Commerce in SSC & HSC Examination.
- Up to 100 % tuition fee waiver for students comes from needy family.
- Up to 100% for physically challenged students on a case by case basis, to be determined by the Scholarship Committee.
- 50% tuition fee waiver is applicable for spouse, offspring and siblings studying in Britannia University.
[Note: Student who gets enrolled later is eligible for tuition waiver.]
** All categories of tuition fee waiver will depend on the availability of fund.
Credit Transfer
A Student may transfer his credits earned at previously institution/university attended towards a BU degree. For this purpose transcripts from all previously attended institutions/universities must be submitted. Transfer students are expected to have at least 2.50 CGPA for undergraduate and graduate programs on a 4-point scale in all university level courses to be considered for admission at BU. Only those courses where the grade of the student is B and above will be considered for credit transfer. Catalogs, official transcripts and testimonials from previously attended university/universities must be furnished with the application for admission. Equivalence of courses for each transferred student will be determined by the university. The residency requirement is that at least 60 percent of credits and internship/project of 3 to 4 credits for a degree must be earned at BU.
