Admission Requirements For Undergraduate Programs
- Minimum GPA-2.50 both in SSC & HSC (Separately). If anyone gets less than 2.50 then he/she needs 6 points in total for admission.
- For Student of 0-level & A-level one must complete at least 5 subjects in 0 level & at least 2 subjects in A level. Out of these 7 subjects one must obtain B grade or GPA 4.00 in four subjects and in rest 3 subjects grade C or GPA 3.50.
Admission Requirements For Graduate Programs
- Admission into MBA will be required minimum GPA-2.50 both in SSC & HSC (Separately). If anyone gets less than 2.50 then he/she needs 6 point total in SSC & HSC and also required minimum 2.00 point in Graduation for admission, having no 3rd class.
- Admission into EMBA minimum 2 year’s job experience will be required.
- Candidates having MBBSIDDS Degree. B.S.C in Nursing, B.S.C in Physiotherapy. B.S.C in Laboratory Technology. B.S.C in Pharmacy and other health related subjects can seek admission for MPH program. Students who have completed Masters Degree in other programs need health related job experience for admission.
- Only students of B Pharm. can sock admission for M Pharm. course.
- Only those students who have completed 4 years Honor’s course in BA in English can take admission in MA in English (Lit it ELT)
Credit Transfer
Students seeking transfer from other universities of repute must consult respective departments for approval before proceeding with the admission process.
Conditional Admission
Students may temporarily be admitted to the university pending availability of a particular examination result. However the pending results must be available before the commencement of the semester from when the admission is sought. The university reserves the right of granting / rejecting a prayer for conditional admission.
Financial Assistance (Scholarships & Waivers)
Existing Principles of Granting Waiver on Tuition Fees only:
- Merit Waiver: H.S.C Current Year
- GPA 4.00 to 4.49 will get 10%.
- GPA 4.50 to 4.79 will get 25%.
- GPA 4.80 to 4.99 will get 40%.
- GPA 5.00 will get 60%.
- GPA Golden 5.00 will get 100%
- Female Students will get 10% additional waiver
Note: To enjoy waiver in each subsequent semester a student shall have to earn minimum CGPA 3.50 in the semester final result and get registered within schedule time. However, if a student can’t earn CGPA 3.50 in semester final result s/he will not be eligible for continuation of merit scholarship.
- Special Waiver:
(a) Sibling / Spouse: 25%. (Any one)
Note: No other waiver will be applicable.
(b) Group / Corporate:
15% The marketing team will liaise with various organizations/educational institutes to get the prospective students. 5 or more students enrolled from a company/educational institute may be recommended for group waiver. Before admission the student will meet the departmental head and respective dean in group who will approve the group waiver.
Note: No other waiver will be applicable.
(c) SUB, SCHS students from earlier programs: 25%.
Note: No other waiver will be applicable.
(d) Lab Aid Family: 20%
(e) Sports’ waiver: As per performance.
- Special Waiver given by the heads of the Department: The head of the departments may recommend few deserving students for granting waiver. However the total number will not exceed 10% of admission. Applications of such students will be reviewed & considered by a special board composed of Treasurer, Registrar and concerned HOD and headed by VC, BOT SUB.
Note: All students eligible for waivers will apply to the Deputy registrars of the campuses along with the relevant documents. After verification of the documents they will send the applications to the office of the Register for interview by the board.
Admission for International Students
International students seeking admission in the university must fulfill the admission requirements as above. Admission will be confirmed after verification of their academic records vis-a-vis equivalent courses of the university. They must provide the following documents:
- Valid Student Visa
- Original transcript & Certificate
- Financial Statement
Hostel Facilities
The University believes that most of the students moving away from home feel out of place. Hence we strive to make the transition as smooth as possible by offering comfortable and safe stay near the campus . To this end, the University offers separate 3-hostels for the female students near the University supervised by the SUB authority and vigilant security personnel 24-hours a day and 7-days a week.
Keeping students’ requirements in mind, University offers quality hostel facilities to meet their necessities for living in a cosmopolitan city like Dhaka . Every effort is made to make students feel at home during their stay at the hostels.
The University operates Female Hostel at West Dhanmondi Shankar
The above hostel accommodates 156 female students
