Admission Information

1. Bachelor of Business Administration:
Duration: 04 (Four) Years
Minimum eligibility for application:

  • Minimum GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Exams from any background or equivalent (Education Board, Madrasha Board, Technical Education Board, or Equivalent Examinations / Other Educational Institutes).

  • For O Level and A Level students, 5 subjects in O Level and 2 subjects in A Level with a minimum grade of B in 4 subjects and a minimum grade of C in 3 subjects are necessary. No grade point of E will be allowed to consider for admission.

  • Foreign students must pass 12 education years and get the same grades in equivalent examinations from foreign-recognized institutions. For more details, please contact the Foreign Students’ Service Cell.

  • Any prospective student having an overall GPA of 8.00 or above in SSC and HSC or equivalent is eligible to get direct admission but needs to appear on the placement test for English Fundamental Course.

2. Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.):
Duration: 04 (Four) Years
Minimum eligibility for application:

  • Candidate must have a minimum aggregate GPA of 6.50 in SSC / O Level or Equivalent and HSC / A Level or Equivalent Examinations (on a total scale of 10).

  • Candidate must pass SSC / O Level or recognized equivalent and HSC / A Level or recognized equivalent in Science Group and obtain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 5.0 (without any additional subjects).

  • Candidate must pass HSC / A Level or recognized equivalent examination with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Chemistry and Biology separately and a minimum GPA of 2.0 in Mathematics on a scale of 5.0.

  • Candidate must pass HSC / A Level or recognized equivalent examination in the current year or one previous year.

  • Foreign students must pass 12 education years and get the same grades in equivalent examinations from foreign-recognized institutions. For more details, please contact the Foreign Students’ Service Cell.

  • The student must pass HSC / A Level or recognized equivalents with the following science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.

  • However, candidates having no Mathematics at the HSC / A Level or recognized equivalents may be admitted, but they need to take an extra 3 (three) credits course on Mathematics relevant to B. Pharm. curriculum.

  • Admission should be based on competitive written test evaluations. In addition to the written test, an oral test may be taken for further assessment.

  • Recognized equivalents mean Education Board, Madrasah Board, and Bangladesh Technical Education Board, etc.

  • Seat capacity: 70 students are permitted in a Semester.

  • GED is not allowed for admission.

3. Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE):
Duration: 04 (Four) Years
Minimum eligibility for application:

  • Minimum GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Exams from any background or equivalent (Education Board, Madrasha Board, Technical Education Board, or Equivalent Examinations / Other Educational Institutes).

  • For O Level and A Level students, 5 subjects in O Level and 2 subjects in A Level with a minimum grade of B in 4 subjects and a minimum grade of C in 3 subjects from science background are necessary. No grade point of E will be allowed to consider for admission.

  • Students must have Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with passing grades in both SSC & HSC / 4 years Diploma and Equivalent Examinations.

Minimum eligibility for application:

  • Minimum GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC Exams from any background or equivalent (Education Board, Madrasha Board, Technical Education Board, or Equivalent Examinations / Other Educational Institutes).

  • For O Level and A Level students, 5 subjects in O Level and 2 subjects in A Level with a minimum grade of B in 4 subjects and a minimum grade of C in 3 subjects from science background are necessary. No grade point of E will be allowed to consider for admission.

  • Students must have Biology at the HSC level with passing grades. Three years Diploma holders with related technical subjects from Govt. approved institutes can apply for admission.

Every student must take the admission test unless he/she meets the requirements of direct admission criteria set forth by the university. Students, having outstanding results in their previous exams, may be allowed to get them admitted in the university directly but it is not a fundamental right. Students will be selected for admission considering their admission tests, previous academic results, moral character and some related factors. Admission test includes written exam as well as viva voce.

Exemption of Written Test

Applicants of Pharmacy, BBA and EEE programs who have total GPA 7.50 or above adding the GPA of SSC & HSC may be exempted from written test. Applicants of other undergraduate programs (except Pharmacy, BBA and EEE programs) who have total GPA 7.00 or above adding the GPA of SSC & HSC may be exempted from written test. However they will be required to appear for the viva voce. All applicants exempted from written test will have to attend the Placement Test on English. Students seeking scholarship on the basis of performance in admission test can sit for admission test. English section of Admission Test of relevant program usually considered as Placement Test.

Admission Procedure:
The procedures to be followed by students to gain admission to the university in both undergraduate and master’s programs are as follows:

  • Students will meet or speak with an academic advisor to select an educational objective and complete initial enrollment.

  • Students have to collect application forms from the Admission Office submitting the nonrefundable application form fee.

  • Completed and signed application form has to be submitted in the Admission Office along with the above mentioned papers as per requirement.

  • Students who will be selected by the admission authority will be given permission for admission.

  • Students must be physically present at the time of admission.

  • Finally, students will submit all necessary documents relevant to the respective degree programs, together with the admission fee to the Accounts Office.

  • After completion of all procedures of admission, a student will be a proud student of Stamford University, but university authority reserves the right to take any decision against the admission of any student if required.

Admission of any student will be cancelled for the following reason(s):

  • If a student does not continue 2 trimesters consecutively without the prior permission of the university authority; I lf a student does not pay his dues in due time;

  • If a student violates the rules and regulations of the university;

  • If the authority takes any disciplinary action against a student for some specific reasons;

  • It is to be noted that the admission fee is nonrefundable.

If a student’s admission is cancelled due to the above reason(s), he/she will have to get re-admission with the permission of the proper authority provided he/she wish to continue his/her study at the university but it is not a fundamental right.

Re-admission procedures are as follows:

  • Students should submit a re-admission application at least one month prior to the beginning of the trimester he/ she plans to enter for the permission of the university authority for re-admission.

  • Before re-admission, he/ she will have to pay his/ her previous full dues.
    At the time of re-admission he/ she will have to pay TK. 5,000.00 (five thousand) as re-admission fee.

  • Re-admission form will be available at the Admission Office.

Note: University authority reserves me right to cancel the candidature/admission of a student for false statement or without showing any cause.

  • Valid Student: The candidate who have been qualified in admission test or full fill the requirements of direct admission, having a valid ID, provided by the admission office will be considered as a valid student of Stamford University.
  • A student of Bachelor program can take maximum of 2 years additional time to complete her/his degree. For example, normal duration of Bachelor Program is 4 years and maximum additional time is 2 years, so a student must have to complete the degree within 6 years. In-case of re-admission, validity will be computed from the date of admission. That is, students must have to be re-admitted within a reasonable time that she/ he can complete the degree in a total duration of 6 years.

  • A student of Master program can take maximum of 2 years additional time to complete her/his degree.

A student can change her/his current program by showing reasonable causes, but it is not a fundamental right.

Program change procedures are as follows:

  • Student can apply for program change within a reasonable time considering the validity of studentship (mentioned above).

  • Program change can be done only at the beginning of a trimester and student must have to match basic admission requirement of the respective trimester.

  • Student has to collect Program Change form (Form # 113) to get clearance from concerned departments and divisions.

To change program student needs clearance from:

  • Accounts Division by paying all previous dues and program change fee.

  • Library clearance.

  • ‘No objection’ clearance from the Chairman of current department and the Chairman of intended department.

  • Consent from Registrar Office.

  • If everything is acceptable, Admission Office will give the student a new Id of the intended program.

Internet and Personalized Web-based E-mail Account for Students

Students of Stamford are facilitated with Internet services in the online lab. The labs are equipped with highly configured PC, Structured Cabling Network and High-Speed Bandwidth with modern facilities. All campuses are connected with optical fiber ackbone so that they can enjoy the facilities with Hi-tech technology without any interruption. Students are also facilitated with personalized web-based E-mail account in our own domain.

Adequate Library Facility

To fulfill the requirements of students Stamford University Library provides comprehensive service. Stamford University has five rich and modern libraries with more than 50,000 books, 3000 reference collections, 1500 internship reports, 300 journals, 400 CDs, 150 cassettes, dailies, weeklies along with many audio–visual collections. Moreover there are five seminar libraries and two teachers reading room.

Credit Transfer to Foreign Universities

Stamford University is proud to inform that it has been facilitating its students with credit transfer to different reputed foreign universities. Stamford has already transferred more than 100 students of CSE, CSI, BBA and MBA programs to different universities of the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia. They are now studying there with success and fame brightening the name and fame of Stamford University Bangladesh.

Stamford University has arranged joint degree programs and credit transfer programs with U.S. universities such as Claflin University, State University of New York and Stanford University, USA to ensure quality education and make foreign degrees available to students staying at home.

Every student of Stamford can avail himself/herself of this opportunity if he/she can earn required GPA in the exams. To transfer credits to foreign universities a student can choose any one of the following options:
