Eligibility requirements for undergraduate program:

Eligibility requirements for undergraduate program is minimum 2nd Division or GPA 2.5 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations of ‘O’ Level in five subjects and ‘A’ Level in two major subjects with minimum ‘C’ in each or US high school diploma. Engineering program students must have science background both in SSC and HSC examinations. Diploma students are eligible for admission in engineering program (Condition applies).

Eligibility for BBA, CSE, EEE, CE, LL.B., BA Hons in IS, BSS Hons Economics:

Eligibility requirements for Graduate program:

Eligibility for MBA & EMBA:

MBA (1 Year): At least 4 years BBA Hons. Degree.

MBA (2 Years): At least a Bachelor degree from any discipline.

EMBA: At least a Bachelor degree with minimum of 2 years professional work experience.

Eligibility for LL.M:

LL.M (2 Years): 2 Years LL.B (Pass Degree) from National University or any recognized Private University (Before 2015).

LL.M (1 Year): 4 year LL.B Hons. Degree from any recognized university.

Eligibility for MA in Islamic Studies:

MA (2 Years): 3 year bachelor degree in any discipline.

MA (1 Year): 4 year Hons. Degree in Islamic Studies.

Eligibility for B.Ed and M.Ed:

B.Ed: Minimum Bachelor degree/equivalent degree.

M.Ed: Post graduate diploma in Education (PGDE)/B.Ed/equivalent degree.

Eligibility for MPH:

• 1.      MBBS, BDS or equivalent degree from any Medical Colleges recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
• 2.      Postgraduate or Masters in Biological relevant sciences.
• 3.      B.Sc. Nursing as recognized by respective National Nursing Council or equivalent degree.
• 4.      B.Sc. in Health Education or equivalent degree from any accredited institution.
• 5.   M.D.; B.Pharm; D.D.S.; D.V.M.; B.Sc. in Psychotherapy; B.Sc. in Lab. Science; or any Health related degree from any accredited institution.

Medical graduates with experience of 2 (two) years or more and non-medical graduate with experience of 3 (three) years or more respectively in the field of Public Health or a related area (excluding internship) will be given preference for admission.

Waiver of courses to be given following the guideline of UGC:
Those having diploma engineering in Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Power/Mechanical/Telecommunication are also eligible for admission with waivers in some courses as per decision of the departmental equivalence committee.
Courses may be exempted only from GED group. Courses from Basic sciences, Mathematics and any engineering course will not be exempted. The total exempted credits must not be more than 13.5 credits.

About University:

Pundra (also known as Pundrabardhan Bhukti, Paundra, Paundraya, etc.) was the branch of one of the most developed civilizations of ancient west Bengal, now a part of northern Bangladesh. The civilization of Pundra was not established overnight it had to go through the evolutionary process of thousands of years. A considerable number of Bangladeshi people today are actually the successors of the people of the Pundra civilization.

We cannot deny the fact that we are very much indebted to the Pundra civilization for all that we have today for example, our education, culture, customs, social values etc. Pundra civilization represented a huge prosperous mixed population with its strong central government it had a strong administrative and political system along with an enriched economic background of a well established commercial center. With a sophisticated touch of water tank technology, Pundra was one of the important civilizations which had a cluster of villages surrounded by noticeable walls all along.

To talk about its technology, it should be mentioned that its walls had been built three hundred years before the Great Wall of China. Its agriculture developed on a splendid combination of the river ‘Karatoa’ and other lakes; and in fact, this formed the basic layout of Pundra civilization. With the succession of Stone Age, Iron Age, Bronze age; the Pundra civilization flourished from every aspect navigation, astrology, astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, theology etc. Furthermore, it helped flourish art and literature for example, epic, folk literature, and other types of literature especially those that survived orally generations after generations came into written text at that time.

The Pundra civilization showed a great thirst for knowledge; the establishment of the ancient university ‘Vashubiharh’ stood as a testimony of that. The social ideas, values, customs, philosophy, and humanity of the Pundra civilization soon earned a worldwide recognition.

The Pundra University of Science and Technology has been established with a noble intention to uphold and keep alive all the values of the great Pundra civilization. With such a naming of the university and such intentions as mentioned above, we desire to take part in the world’s history and domain of knowledge.
