Admission Information

Admission Deadline: “Upto 01 February 2022

For B.Sc in CSE/EEE/ME/IPE/CE:

Applicants who have passed HSC/ Alim or equivalent or A level or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply, if he/she fulfills the following conditions:

(i) HSC/ Alim or equivalent examination in Science Group with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with minimum GPA 3.0 (with additional subject). The total GPA of SSC/Dakhil or equivalent and HSC/ Alim or equivalent should be at least7.0 (with additional subjects).

(ii) GCE applicants at A-Level with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Functional English must have GPA 3.0. The total GPA of GCE O-Level and A-Level should beat least 7.0. However, the candidate must not have any F grade in any subjectof the both levels.

**Applicants who have obtained a total GPA of 9.0 or more in HSC/ Alim or equivalent and SSC/ Dakhil or equivalent examination are eligible for direct admission (without Admission Test).

For BBA/B.A (Honors) in English:

Applicants who have passed HSC/Alim or equivalent or Alevel or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply, if he/she fulfills the following conditions:

(i) HSC/ Alim or equivalent examination with minimum GPA of 3.0 (with additional subject). The total GPA of HSC/Alim or equivalent and SSC/ Dakhil or equivalent should be at least 6.0 (with additional subjects).

(ii) GCE O/A Level Examination: At least GPA 3.0 in both GCE O-Level and GCE A-Level. The total GPA in GCE A-Level and O-Level should be at least 6.0.The candidate must not have any F grade in any subject of the both levels.

**Applicants who have obtained a total GPA of 8.0 or more in HSC/ Alim or equivalent and SSC/ Dakhil or equivalent examinations are eligible for direct Admission (without Admission Test).

Finally selected candidates will have to adhere to the following rules and procedures:

  1. Candidates have to complete admission formalities within a fixed period of time as decided by admission committee.Any candidate failing to complete admission formalities within the prescribed time will warrant cancellation of selection automatically.
  2. Any student failing to attend the class within two weeks of the commencement of the academic program will warrant cancellation of his/her admission and forfeiture of all fees including security deposit.
  3. Waiting lists will be prepared and displayed by the admission committee as per merit and be notified as per requirement.

Department Allotment: Departments will be allotted on the basis of individual merit position in the admission test at the end of admission against total vacancies. Individual choice for selection of departments will be given preference as far as possible.

Medical Check-up:  Civil candidates selected provisionally are to undergo medical check-up at BAUST medical center. They will have to produce test reports of urine for R/E, blood for HBs Ag and blood grouping before the BAUST medical authority. The medical authority will decide on the physical fitness of candidates for admission in BAUST.

Guardian’s Consent: In the admission form selected civil candidates and their parents or guardians have to render consent certificate accepting terms and conditions to be formulated by MIST authority from time to time.

Following documents are to be submitted during admission:

  1. Original certificates and transcript of SSC/ Dakhil or equivalent examination.
  2. Original certificate and transcript of HSC/ Alim or equivalent examination.
  3. Three copies of recent passport size colored photograph of the candidate duly attested by class-I gazetted officer.
  4. Character certificate from the head of the last institute attended.
  5. Nationality certificate from UP Chairman or appropriate authority of Municipality/ City Corporation.
  • For the Children of Freedom Fighters original copies of Freedom Fighter certificate of parents, issued by the Ministry of Freedom Fighters Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
  • For Tribal Citizen; original certificate as a tribal citizen issued by local UP chairman and countersigned by concerned District Commissioner (DC).
  • For Children of Military Personnel original certificate of authenticity, issued by respective commanding officers (for serving parents); and by CORO/ Naval Secretary/ Air Secretary/ Record Office/ Drafting Office (for retired parents).

WIFI CAMPUS & HALLS

Internet has become an essential part of our modern life. Internet finds more importance in the case of an engineering student. BAUST is committed to make our students familiar with modern technologies and recent world. That is why we have provided WIFI facility in our campus and in both the halls. Each student, faculty member and stuffs of BAUST can enjoy high speed internet facility 24/7 inside of the BAUST campus or while remaining in his/her own room in the halls.

MODERN LABORATORIES

Learning engineering will remain incomplete without practical knowledge. BAUST has set up its all laboratories with a view to teach the students as well as to conduct research works. Fully equipped with most moder n equipments, our all laboratories are adequate to make the students familier with recent technologies.

RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES

The university believes that campus life is an important aspect in the development process of students. In addition, to provide services in assisting students in solving problems that affect their studies, the university aims to create an environment conductive to cultural development and promotion of interaction among staffs, students and intellectuals. The university has two residential halls for the accommodations of the students. The total capacity of the halls is around 1260 till now.

The hall for the male students is named after the famous Bhawaiya folk song composer and singer of Rangpur AbbasUddin Ahmed.

The hall for the female students is named after BirProtikTaramonBibi who is one of the two female freedom fighters in Bangladesh obtaining the BirProtik award.

Name of the halls with their capacities are listed below:

  • AbbasUddin Ahmed Hall = 523 Seats
  • Newly Constructed Male Hall = 300 Seats
  • Bir Protik Taramon Bibi Hall = 470 Seats

The students live in these on community basis, while 4 students share a single room. Each hall has a TV room, wide balcony, indoor games and dining room facility. A provost and some assistant provosts administrate each hall.

Both halls are neat and clean and possess a perfect environment for study. Top quality security is ensured by Bangladesh Army and our own security guards.

Food quality and nutrition values are also maintained here strictly to preserve the good health of our students.

LIBRARY

Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST) is only a private Science and Technology University for north region of the country. The library is called the heart of an institution. University creates knowledge through the research and the library of the university preserves the all kind of research results (knowledge). So the library has been playing an enormous role for conducting research, lesson preparing and learning.

The library hosts a vast and diverse collection of books, journals, monograms and periodicals of academic interest.

Library hour:

  • The Library remains open from 8:00 AM to 05:00 PM (Summer: 01 Mar – 14 Nov) 8:00 AM to 04:30 PM (Winter: 15 Nov – 28 Feb)
  • Sunday to Thursday
  • Holiday Friday and Saturday

Membership: All students, faculty members and officers are entitled to become members of the Library. The membership is created by the library administration while on admission of a student at BAUST and validity of the student membership depends on the registration of courses in each semester.

Mission: The Library’s mission is to provide comprehensive resources and services in support of the research, teaching and learning needs of the University community.

The BAIUST Library is subscribing 3500 e-books in a perpetual mode (lifetime).

• All students are requested to handle with care all the fittings, fixtures, furniture, equipment, books, journals, CD’s computers, etc. of the Library and should leave them neat and tidy after use.
• Mobile phones cannot be used inside the Library.
• No book shall be issued to students for use in reading room or home within the last half hour previous to daily closing.

**Applicants who have obtained a total GPA of 9.0 or more together in HSC/Alim or equivalent and SSC/Dakhil or equivalent are eligible for direct admission (without Admission Test).

Non Engineering Programs (BBA, BBA in AIS, BA Hons. in English, MBA for BBA, MBA(Regular), MBA(Executive), MA in English):

Applicants who have passed HSC/Alim or equivalent or A level or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply, if he/she fulfills the following conditions:

  • HSC/Alim or equivalent examination with minimum GPA of 3.0 (with additional subject). The total GPA of HSC/Alim or equivalent and SSC/Dakhil or equivalent should be at least 6.0 (with additional subject).
  • General Certificate Education
  • GCE O/A Level Examination: At least GPA 3.0 in both GCE O-Level and GCE A-Level. The total GPA in GCE A-Level and O-Level should be at least 6.0. The candidate must not have any F grade in any subject of the both levels.
  • Applicants who have passed HSC or equivalent in 2020, 2021 and 2022 are eligible to apply.

Scholarship and Tuition Fee Waiver for Meritorious Students:

  • Students from each batch securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in each semester final examination will get Tk. 3000, Tk. 2000 and Tk. 1000 respectively.
  • Students from each batch securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in each semester final examination will get tuition fee waiver 25%, 15% and 10% respectively.
