Bandarban University

Master of Business Administration (MBA):

Anyone having GPA of minimum 2.50 can seek admission to master program of the University.

• Combined GPA of 5.00 in S.S.C and H.S.C with minimum 2.5 in each or total GPA of 6.00 with minimum GPA of 2.00 either in S.S.C or in H.S.C
• GCE O- Level in minimum 5 subject with a GPA 2.50 and GCE A- Level in 2 subject with a minimum GPA 2.00.
• Engineering students must have maths and physics in their H.S.C with at least B grade

In order to help the students who are unable to afford the cost of higher study, the university offers Financial Aid program. Under this program selected students are provided aid in several ways including Full Free Scholarship and Exemption of Partial Tuition Fee.

The vision of Bandarban University is to perfectly impart high-quality education and skill to the students. The university wants to make a creative generation who will bring about a positive change in the present socio-economic, cultural, technical, and political condition of the country. Building themselves the students of the university will build the nation and achieve excellence in every educational field.

Mission

The main mission of the university is to create proficient, professional, expert, and practically skilled manpower through proper higher education in post-secondary/graduation or post-graduation level ensuring optimal spiritual and mental development. The university will not confine its activities to mere acquiring and giving knowledge. It will try its best to make a perfect arrangement of practicing knowledge. Bandarban University will facilitate research works on social, economic, historic, national, and international issues and crises or any scientific topic. The university also aims at the overall development of the local tribal communities or ethnic groups so that they can build themselves to contribute to the actual development of Bangladesh. ICT based education programs of the university will help the students studying face the challenges of the 21^st century and build themselves as qualified citizens for establishing digital Bangladesh. The university will find out meritorious but needy or financially weak students and give them professional training in post-secondary level build them perfectly.

Facilities

Campus: Bandarban University is located at Rowadaw Heights The main road, Bandarban town, Bandarban, Bangladesh. The university has a wide range of facilities such as spacious campus, air-conditioned rooms, separate room for the teachers, rich library, common room for the students, cafeteria , prayer room, seminar room,  dedicated  internet facilities, Wi-Fi zone, students guidance and counseling service, reasonable tuition and other fees, etc.

Library: The Bandarban University library has different resources like books on different subjects, reports, and bound journals, etc. Presently there are more than 4000 thousand books covering library arts, social science, and commerce, particularly Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Computer science, and Engineering, History, and culture, as well as different language courses like Bengali, English, etc. The Bandarban University library subscribes an international journal like the  Economist , Riders, Digest, Indian time, etc.

Cafeteria: There are big cafeteria on the campus of Bandarban University.

History of The University

• Bandarban University is the first private university in Bangladesh has partnered with the government. The university is approved by the Ministry of Education government of Bangladesh and recognized by University Grant Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) in the year 2018. University was inaugurated grandly on 7 March 2019.  

  Bandarban University established in the greenery of Bandarban hill district in order to create a perfect natural environment for learning. The university has opened a new horizon of higher study / tertiary education for the knowledge seeker students of Bangladesh especially for the students of the hill tract of Bangladesh. Bandarban University has become a symbol of great hope, enthusiasm, and prosperity for the people of Hill tract of Bangladesh especially for the people of Bandarban.

  Establishing a university in Bandarban is a dream becomes reality. Mr. BirBahadur UShweSing, honorable Minister of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill affairs and Mr. Kyaw Shwe Hla, honorable chairman of Bandarban Hill district council took the initiative and they found as the best associate in establishing the university.

  A foundation named “বান্দরবান শিক্ষা ও উন্নয়ন ফাউন্ডেশন” (Education & Development Foundation) comprising members of the civil society, distinguished businessmen, high officials of the government and non-government organizations, local people representatives and renowned organizers and professors of different public and private universities. The foundation elected honorable minister Mr. Bir Bahadur U Shwe Sing mp as the chairman of the foundation and honorable Chairman of Bandarban Hill district council Mr. Kyaw Shwe Hla as the co-chairman of the foundation. The foundation made an agreement with Bandarban Hill district council to establish a public-private partnership university in Bandarban named “Bandarban University”. It is a matter of great fortune that honorable Prime Minister of the Government republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina spread her kind helping hand in establishing the university

Accreditation & Affiliations

The university is approved by the Ministry of Education government of Bangladesh in the year 2018 and recognized by University Grant Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), the highest controlling authority in Bangladesh for public and private Universities.

Bandarban University is the first private university in Bangladesh has a partnership with Bandarban Hill district council, a regional the government body responsible for the administration of Bandarban Hill District in Bangladesh.
